Glimmer Camp is a co-created event. Campers are invited and encouraged to initiate activities, games, and play provided it adheres to the camp rules and code of conduct.
Each day at camp there are a variety of sign-up activities in the morning and afternoon. You can connect with nature, try your hand at a craft, move your body, play games with other campers, and so much more! Some examples of activity choices available at camp are:
Canoeing and kayaking
Archery
Spicy Rope Workshops
Tarot Reading
Nature collage
DIY nipple tassel pasties
Dance Fitness
There will be so many more delightful activities offered by activity leaders.
Each afternoon before dinner will be a mixer where folks have an opportunity to get to know each other and share some laughs. Mixers are also when activity sign-ups for the next day will take place.
Before breakfast and late night there are opportunities to move your body, connect with nature, and enjoy the company of others in the camp environment. Start your day with coffee tasting, breathwork, or a sunrise canoe. End your day with stargazing or a night hike.
All-camp activities are opportunities for the whole camp community to come together in joyous connection and fun. We're dreaming up open-mic campfire, beach party, field day, and queer prom!
Activities are led by camp volunteers. Do you have an interest, talent, or skill that would lend itself to camp programming? Do you have experience leading activities you think will be awesome at Glimmer Camp? Learn more about volunteering at camp here.
Do I have to participate in camp activities?
No, you can choose your own adventure at camp. We work hard to create a variety and balance of activities. You can sign up at every activity block, attend all drop-in activities, and close down each all-camp -or- you can spend the week reading in your cabin bunk. It's completely up to you.
How does activity sign-up work?
Each afternoon before dinner during mixers, activity choices for the next day are announced and campers will sign up.
What kind of activities are there?
We strive to provide a variety of camp activities at camp. There will be more traditional camp activities like arts and crafts, group games, archery, swimming and boating, and also non-traditional activities like spicy rope workshops and tarot readings. Some activities will require sign-up and have limited capacity and some will be drop-in. In the afternoon and after dinner are all-camp activities which are for the whole camp/large groups. Activities are lead by camper volunteers and so the Glimmer Camp experience is co-created by all participants. We priorities activities that resonate with folks who've been systemically excluded from camp experiences.
