Is this a big three-day party?
Sort of. We strive to facilitate a safe/r, dynamic, and affirming event for connection, adventure, self-discovery, fun and community connection. There will be plenty of laughter, music, play, and joy.. And, it is not a festival or club atmosphere. If you are looking for four days in the woods with traditional campout experiences like campfires, new friends, arts and crafts - and - queer adult company, then this is the event for you. If you are looking for a festival like atmosphere or nonstop drinking/drugs, then this is not the event for you.
Is camp a sober event?
It is not, and intoxication is not centered in the Glimmer Camp experience. Federally illegal drugs, including marijuana, are not permitted in the campground. This event is BYOB, campers must be 21+ to imbibe, and it is prohibited to give anyone under 21 alcohol.
We expect everyone people who choose to imbibe to do so safely and responsibly; we expect folks to not drink to excess or become belligerent.
Is this a 'singles' event?
You are welcome regardless of your relationship status. Glimmer Camp registration is individual. and we hope that people will feel comfortable to come alone or along with partner(s) and friends. This is not a dating or hook-up centric event, activities are planned for small and large groups. We are sex positive and we ask that hook-ups and physical intimacy wait until after the campout so we can keep the focus on community care.
What should I bring?
Campers will be provided a full packing list prior to camp. This event is a campout and campers need to bring a tent, bedding, personal dishes, etc.
This campsite is on the Oregon coast, May averages 22% chance of percipitation, high temp of 60 and low temp 48. Nights will be cool so make sure you bring appropriate clothing layers and bedding. You will want to make sure you have appropriate supplies to be in the forested camp environment during the late spring; flashlight, bug spray, sunscreen, toiletries, rain coat, etc.
Is camp a clothing optional event?
Camp is not clothing optional. Please do be clothed in some fashion, maybe your best 'camp' fashion.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets and ESAs are not permitted in the group site. Certified service animals are welcome.
How much privacy is there at camp?
To be honest, not a lot. The campsite is a big field and tents will be places within a few feet of each other. Bathrooms
Can I leave during camp?
We strongly encourage everyone to fully immerse themselves in the Glimmer Camp experience and leave the outside world behind for these four magical days. And, you're an adult, so if you need to leave the camp property for any reason during camp, we do ask you to please sign out and then back in at the camp lodge. In case of an emergency we need to have an accurate count of how many people are on camp property.
Is there wifi or cell reception at camp? Electricity? What about plugging in my devices?
There is no wifi in the campground, cell reception depends on carrier. There is one outlet in the shelter, and it will be used for some activities and food service. If you need to plug in devices we reccomend you bring capability to do so in your vehicle or with a portable battery powered charger.
What is the food like?
Registration includes dinner Sat & Sun and brunch Sun & Mon provided by Little Bit Catering.
What if I have food restrictions?
Our fabulous caterers accommodate most food restrictions. Meals will be served buffet style so elements can be chosen by participants. Please indicate any restrictions on your health form, it is critical that we are able to provide an accurate count to the caterers. If you do not indicate a restriction on your health form, it may not be accommodated during camp. Please contact us if you have concerns. The caterers will practice all food safety best practices, and please note that the kitchen is not dedicated gluten free nor peanut free. We will send out detailed menus two weeks before the event.
Is alcohol served?
Glimmer Camp is not providing any alcohol for the CampOut, it is BYOB. You must be of legal to drink alcohol. We expect that if folks drink they do so safely and responsibly and do not drink to excess or become belidgerent.
How do I get to camp?
The campsite address will be shared with campers after registrations. Parking at the campsite is limited and as such all campers are expected to ride share. We will share a link to a third party carpool app where folks can connect to self organize to carpool.
It is critical that all vehicles arriving at the campsite have at least two camper occupants, so please please please make this effort.
How ADA Accessible is Camp?
The campsite is a large grassy field with uneven ground. The shelter has a concrete floor and tables with attached benches. The restrooms are single stall and ADA accessible.

Sensory Information
The campout site is in the Pacific coastal forest and our group size will be up to 45. You can expect sensations consistent with the outdoor camping; cool temperatures, bugs, campfire smoke. The group will be camped together in the campsite
COVID
We ask everyone to take the precautionary measures of having the most recent vaccine, and limiting expose prior to camp. Participants are not permitted to attend the event if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or having been exposed to anyone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19. All participants must attest to not experience COVID-19 symptoms or being exposed to anyone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19. See Camp Waiver for details.
This campout is held entirely outdoors at a group campsite.
Is there a 'camp nurse'?
There will not be a designated nurse volunteer at this event. We will have a first aid kit that is available for everyone's use.
Security
This campout is held at a group campsite in a public campground. The site is set off from other sites and has it's own parking lot and designated bathrooms. While we have reserved the site for exclusive use there is not way to secure it for provacy nor guarantee that other folks in the campground won't wander in.
