Field for tents
Shelter, tables with attached benches
Large firepit
Two designated, single occupancy restrooms
Several trails can be reached from the campground
Parking lot
The group campsite is a large, grassy, somewhat uneven field bordering a creek. The ground in the shelter is concrete. It is a designated group campsite in a larger campground.
We strongly reccomend that campers share tents with friends to keep the site from feeling overly crowded.
There is one electric outlet in the shelter. Please note that it will frequently be occupied for food service or activities.
Car/Van camping in the parking lot is permitted provided that the set up does not extend beyond the footprint of the vehicle. Rooftop tents are permitted for example, but setting up a tent behind the vehicle is not.
Small RVs that can fit in a regular parking spot are permitted. There are no hookups.
Parking at the campsite is limited and as such all campers are expected to ride share. We will share a link to a third party carpool app where folks can self organize to carpool. It is critical that all vehicles bring at least two people.
If you'd like to reserve a private campsite in the campground for more privacy or to be able to hook up an RV, contact us for the campground name. There is no registration discount for staying in a seperate campsite.
Glimmer Camp does not have camping gear to lend. If you don't have your own camping gear, you will need to share or borrow a tent to sleep in. You will also want a sleeping mat or airmattress and a sleeping bag or cool weather bedding.
You do not need to bring a camping stove or cooking pots and pans- we have all that and will be preparing brunch and dinner. You only need your personal plate, bowl, cup, and silverware. You will also want a headlamp/flashlight/lantern and a camping chair for around the campfire.
Some community resources:
UofO Outdoor Program has gear rentals for members
Gear Traders has used camping gear
While we don't have a gear library, there will be a number of experienced campers at the campout. If you haven't been camping before and you want help setting up a tent, or you have any questions about how to be best prepared ahead of time- we got you. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
