There will be vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options for dinner and breakfast. We will do our best, but we may not be able to accomodate dietary restrictions beyond those options due to facility limitations.
Drinks are included in registration. Options will include beer, wine, cider, kombucha, soda, and tonic mocktails on Saturday and coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and juice on Sunday morning. No outside alcohol is permitted.
The menus will be sent out a week in advance so folks can plan accordingly. There will be space available in the kitchen for folks to store thier own food should they need to bring it.
Campers will be sent a detailed schedule a week before the event.
There will be:
Camp opening and ice breakers to meet other campers.
Creative activities to say goodbye to this year and set intentions for the next.
Sing along campfire.
Maybe a silent disco or late night move?!?!
An invitation for a group hike Sunday after packing up.
And more.
Participants always have choice as to if and how to engage with the offered activities.
Participants are invited to bring and instigate thier own activities and fun to share with others provided it adheres to the event rules and code of conduct.
All campers are responsible for thier own health and safety during the event.
There are no designated nurse volunteers during this event, but there will be first aid kits available to all participants.
We ask everyone to take the precautionary measures of having the most recent vaccine (if able), limiting exposure two weeks before, and taking a test with a negative result within the 24 hours prior to the event. Participants are not permitted to attend the event if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or having been exposed to anyone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19. All participants must attest to not experience COVID-19 symptoms or being exposed to anyone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19. See Event Waiver for details.
We are not requiring masking, and we will have some available at the event. We also encourage and support each participant in taking the precautions that feel right for them. All participants are expected to respect the boundaries set by others. Choices for personal protection will be enthusiastically supported.
We're endeavoring to create an environment where people can connect with each other in play and reflection, song and silliness. In our dreams we all drift off to sleep giggling with friends old and new.
The Foothills Ranch is an open-plan lodge. We will essentially be in the same room for the entirety of the event. There isn't much privacy.
11pm- 7am will be designated as 'quiet time' when all participants are expected to use hushed voices and/or gather outside. And, you can expect a certain amount of noise to carry through the lodge.
If you are a light sleeper or sensitive to other people's sleep sounds (like snoring) you are strongly encourages to bring earplugs, headphones, noise machines or any other items that will help you sleep in this group setting.
Be aware that there aren't seperate rooms in the lodge, so there isn't anywhere indoors to 'get away' from the group entrirely. And, there are thousands of acres of forest and miles of trails right outside the lodge if you want to find solitude in nature.
The entrance to the Foothills Ranch is flat and has no steps. The first floor of the lodge is level without steps and there are ADA accessible stalls in the restrooms. Almost all the beds are on the second floor of the lodge which is accessed by stairs. There are limited beds on the first floor. To request a bed on the first floor as an accomdoation please email registration@glimmercamp.com.
The primary heat source for the lodge is a central fireplace with chimney. We will have a fire going througout the event to warm the facility.
You can expect moderate to significant ambiant noise in the lodge throughout the event, including other people's sleeping sounds at night (snoring).
The lodge will be moderately to dimly lit. There will be christmas light-type lighted decorations that may blink or twinkle.
